How To Make Strawberry Gin Cocktail
When making this cocktail, it's important to use high-quality ingredients. The strawberries should be ripe and sweet, and the gin should be a good quality. I personally prefer a gin with fruity and floral notes, as it pairs well with the strawberries.
You can also use fresh-squeezed lemon juice or store-bought, but fresh is always better.
- Muddle the strawberries, lemon and honey in a cocktail shaker.
- Add the gin and yogurt.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake well for about 10 seconds.
- Optional: To rim the glass, mix equal parts sugar and lemon juice in a shallow dish. Dip the rim of a chilled glass into the mixture.
- Strain the cocktail into the rimmed glass filled with ice.
- Serve and enjoy your delicious Strawberry Gin Cocktail!
You can also blend the strawberries in a blender, strain out the seeds, and use the puree in place of muddled strawberries. If you prefer a sweeter or less tart drink, adjust the amount of honey or simple syrup to taste.
What Type Of Gin Is Best For A Strawberry Gin Cocktail?
There are many different types of gin available, and each one will give the drink a unique flavor profile.
A classic London Dry Gin will give the cocktail a bold, juniper-forward flavor, while a floral gin like a gin made with rose petals or elderflower will add a light, floral touch.
Consider experimenting with different gins to find your favorite.
Can I Make This Cocktail Ahead Of Time?
Yes, you can make this cocktail ahead of time, but it is best to prepare the individual components separately and then combine just before serving. The lemon juice and honey syrup can be mixed together and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
The gin and pureed strawberries can also be stored separately in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, mix the gin, lemon juice mixture, and pureed strawberries together in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into glasses.
This will ensure the freshest and best-tasting cocktail.
Can a non-alcoholic version of a Strawberry Gin Cocktail be made?
Yes, replace the gin with a non-alcoholic alternative or leave it out.
What Are Some Garnish Options For A Strawberry Gin Cocktail?
Another way to customize the Strawberry Gin Cocktail is by changing the garnish. Fresh strawberries, lemon slices, and mint leaves are a classic combination, but you can get creative and try different fruits, herbs, or spices.
For example, a slice of cucumber or a sprig of basil can add an unexpected twist to the drink.
Finally, consider serving your Strawberry Gin Cocktails in a beautiful glass. A martini or coupe glass is perfect for this cocktail, but you can also use a highball glass or even a mason jar for a more rustic feel.
How long does a Strawberry Gin Cocktail last in the refrigerator?
A Strawberry Gin Cocktail will last in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
