Easy Blueberry Simple Syrup Recipe adds a sweet and fruity flavor to drinks, making it perfect for a hot summer cocktail day. The best part of making your own blueberry syrup is that you can adjust the sweetness and tartness to your liking.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ ounce lemon juice
  • ½ cup sugar

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the blueberries and add them to a medium-sized saucepan.
  • Add the water and sugar to the saucepan and stir to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the blueberries have softened and the mixture has thickened.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
  • Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.
  • Add the lemon juice to the blueberry syrup and stir to combine.
  • Store the blueberry syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
